Indian newspapers score big @
Six Indian publications—India Today, Dainik Jagran, Dainik Bhaskar, The Hindu, Malayala Manorama and HT Media—scored big at WanIfra's Asian Media Awards. The 17th edition of the Asian Media Awards attracted 435 entries from countries all over Asia and the Middle East. The Awards will be presented during Publish Asia 2018 on 25 April 2018, in Bali. India bagged three gongs, two in the Magazine Cover Design category and one in the Magazine Infographics. 'China's New Chick' and 'How Colas Lost their Mojo' won the magazine Cover Design gong. India Today's 'Second Strike Capability' marked its place in the Magazine Infographics category.
Malayala Manorama and HT Media, the publisher of The Hindustan Times have been titled the Best in Photojournalism category, for their 'Flight to Life from the Piercing Claws' and 'Tears of Loss' photographs, respectively. Whereas top Hindi dailies Dainik Jagran and Dainik Bhaskar have bagged the Best in Community Service Award.
