Andaz Delhi, a new hotels group in the NCR region, on 8 April launched its book 401 Reasons to Fall in Love with Delhi with an evening of discussion. Also present was Rajeev Sethi, the renowned art curator responsible for curating the unique 401 art pieces in the guestrooms of the hotel, each of which celebrate a reason to fall in love with Delhi. There were several experts on Delhi representing the reasons mentioned in the book.

Stories inspire us, stimulate our imagination, wave our emotions or simply lull us to sleep. Written by luxury vagabond and travel writer Fiona Caulfield, this special book in each guestroom tells the story of Delhi, and the many larger-than-life and tiny details that make us love this place. 401 Reasons to Fall in Love with Delhi is Andaz Delhi’s tribute to this inspiring city, from celebrated iconic monuments to forgotten rituals and lesser-known places that make even locals nostalgic. Each of the 401 guestrooms and suites has a unique art piece that is a visual interpretation of one of the 401 reasons. While there is much to love about Delhi, navigating its myriad twists and turns can be a challenge, therefore the book has been designed to highlight twelve different categories for those to discover areas of specific interests, including: Delhi’s Building Heritage, Taste of Delhi, Creative Delhi, Delhi Celebrates, Cultural Delhi, Sporting Delhi, Delhi Shops, New Delhi Architecture, Delhi Devotion, Delhi on the Move, Natural Delhi and Iconic Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion, Heddo Siebsi said ‘At Andaz Hotels across the world, we are committed to creating an inspiring experience through a kaleidoscope of local culture and 401 Reasons to Fall in Love with Delhi truly brings this to life.’

The session proceeded with Fiona, who talked about how the 401 idea was conceived, back in 2014 and then went on to share how the final 401 list was curated and the final stories for each reason were developed with original inputs from three other Delhi experts as well as the Andaz team. She was followed by Rajeev Sethi - the art curator, who talked about his involvement in curating the 401 art pieces for the guestrooms of the hotel. Abhineet Singh from Brewhouse, spoke about the creative inspiration that he and his team received from the city, while designing the book.

The evening concluded over a book launch celebration held at The Studios, the creative meetings and event space at the newly opened Andaz Delhi.
