Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a book titled Tireless Voice Relentless Journey written by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu in Delhi. The book comprises key speeches and articles of Naidu compiled over his long political career.
Speaking on the occasion, Modi said, ‘I see 2017-2022 in the same light as the five years from 1942-47 which gave us our independence. These are very crucial five years for the country. It is perhaps the first time since our independence that the President, the Vice President, and all of us in the Parliament come from the same cultural background, the same school of thought. Our efforts must, therefore, be to strengthen and enhance the dignity of the Parliament.’
Various leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party were present at the event, including President Amit Shah, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. Recently, the National Democratic Alliance named Naidu as the candidate for the vice-presidential polls, against Opposition’s Gopalkrishna Gandhi. Naidu has since been elected as the Vice President of India.
